I started building effects pedal power supplies a few years ago when some friends ask me to build some for them. I studied all the power supplies on the market and read everything I could find on effects pedal power supplies. I got hooked on the challenge to build a great power supply at a very good price. Now, I build effects pedal power supplies full time.

I worked in electronics as a computer engineer (electronic specialist) for 35 years and I apply that experience to building power supplies in my electronic shop and I also have a small machine shop.

As for the inventor side of me, I love building high quality power supplies that last and at a good price. When I started I wanted my power supplies to last forever in rough conditions, so I set some high standards. They have 3000 volts spike suppression. They are short circuit and thermal over load protected. They also have a safe zone so the output voltage cannot go too high and damage an effects pedal for any reason. But most of all they had to be very, very quiet. I studied some high end pre-amp power supplies like (John Hardy and Langevin) to understand how they were able to accomplish such silent power supplies, and incorporated some of their ideas along with mine.

In studying pre-amps it gave me an idea for testing the quality of my power supplies. I connect them directly into an amplifier and turn it on full volume then listened to the silence (believe me it took a long time to make it silent) if there was any AC voltage over a few millionths of a volt and you could hear it.

Currently there are no standards for effects pedals therefore to build a power supply that meets everyone’s need is tough. I have met some great people over the last few years building power supplies. I like to think that everyone that buys a power supply from me is like a friend and if they have any questions or concerns they will let me know so that I can make my best effort to resolve their issues and concerns.

Fade Box
Fade Box
For Transistor based-Fuzz and Distortion Pedals.

The Fade Box allows you to simulate worn batteries or Fading batteries, which is useful in transistor-based fuzz and distortion circuits. The Fade Box has four-output connectors that provide 8, 7, 6 and 5 volts DC.

These are fixed voltage and you can use more then one output to run different pedals at the same time - No pots to adjust - so once you find the one you like you can stick with it for great constant tone. Works on any 9 volt DC power supply like VooDoo labs, The Brick, The Regulator or the One Spot. The Fade Box is built to last forever; it is over load protected, and impossible to damage.

NOTE: The Fade Box is not recommended for digital pedals. Modern opamp designs are minimally affected.

Specifications:
• Input: Regulated 9-volt DC Negative Center
• Outputs: Four 2.1mmx5.5mm connectors 5, 6, 7 & 8 Volts DC
• Physical size: 3.19" x 1.57" x .79"

What Users Are Saying:
"Yeah dude, I used it with my DOD overdrive preamp, and it gave it the exact dying fade out noise I love to hear! (And dread with batteries)".
